Phyllis Muriel Cowan Archibald born in Turnbridge Wells. She studied at GSA obtaining her diploma in 1908. She exhibited with the RSA, GSLA, RGI. She married Charles Clay c.1906 and later moved to London and then Grasmere, Westmoreland.
